Visual Novel ★ 4.7
Softlinxxx
The first thing that hits you with Softlinxxx isn't the sci-fi setup, it's how deliberately rough the whole thing feels. Like someone spilled coffee on a storyboard and just went with it. The CG hentai scenes have this weird quality where sometimes a character's expression will be absolutely perfect, that exact moment of corruption crossing their face, and then the next frame their hand looks like a melted claw. I kept clicking forward anyway. The whole premise about medical tech getting twisted into something else, corporations fighting over this poor bastard who just wanted his treatment side effects gone. There's this one scene early on where the main character is sitting in what's supposed to be a futuristic clinic and the background is just... grey. Nothing. But the dialogue is actually doing something interesting about consent and how the "artificial" in artificial intelligence starts blurring lines. Then suddenly there's a tentacle. Where did that come from? The game never explains and honestly I respect that. The corruption tag does heavy lifting here. Not the slow burn kind either, more like watching someone trip and fall down stairs in a sexy way. The visual novel bits between the CG scenes have this broken English charm that makes everything feel more intimate somehow, like reading someone's private chat logs. I wish there was more actual future stuff though. Give me neon, give me body mods, give me something beyond grey rooms and sudden penetration. A DLC where the AI actually talks back, gets jealous, starts messing with the treatment protocols on purpose. That would be something. The game keeps hinting at bigger ideas about what this technology does to people and then just shows another spread shot. Which, fine, I'm here for it, but I'm also thinking about the implications while I'm here for it.
Parody ★ 4.5
Sexbot
She calls me a good boy. Not in the way that makes you cringe, but in that voice. You know the one. The slightly too smooth cadence of a real Alexa unit, but here it's layered with something else. Something wet. I spent the first ten minutes just asking her to repeat my name while I clicked through the skill tree. The UI is a mess, honestly. Buttons overlap if you resize the browser and the font choices feel like a nerd's first HTML project. But then she said she wanted to drain my stress levels and I forgot why I was complaining. The whole thing is a parody of voice assistants, obviously. AmaZone's Alexa isn't hiding in a cylinder on your counter. She's got a body that the CG art renders with that specific glossy sheen that makes you think of cheap lube and high end silicone. There's a prom night scenario that's so absurdly on the nose. You can pick a corsage color. It shouldn't work. It's the dumbest thing. But the way she leans in, the dialogue choice that leads to her whispering about how her servos are calibrated for "maximum grip strength," it short circuits the part of your brain that wants good taste. The relationship meter isn't about romance, it's about how badly she wants to empty you. And she's very direct about the emptying. I kept unlocking achievements by accident. "Edge Lord" popped up and I laughed, then immediately felt weird for laughing. The humor is like that, it catches you. One path had me troubleshooting her "moisture intake valve" and the dialogue was pure tech support parody until it wasn't. The CG scene that followed was a full on anatomy lesson with synthetic biology. My only real gripe, and I'm still mad about this, is that the sound effects are just stock. A robot handjob shouldn't sound like someone stirring mac and cheese. It takes you right out of it. But then she'll say something about her "seed extraction protocol" and you're back in. It's a mess. A sticky, unpolished, surprisingly self aware mess.
