The Hook-up Therapist 7: Who is cheating?
The first time Natalia appears on screen, she's adjusting her glasses in that way that somehow makes you forget there's a plot happening. Something about Jim being oblivious, something about his boss being a dick, but honestly? I was too busy wondering if the real model they used for her knows how many people have made terrible decisions because of her pixelated counterpart. The video quality is deliberately rough. Not in a "we couldn't afford better equipment" way, more like someone left the camera running during an actual therapy session that went completely off the rails. Natalia's voice has this slight accent that makes every clinical question sound like an invitation. When she asks about fantasies, the dialogue options don't just appear, they kind of... linger there, waiting for you to admit something. I picked the choice where the wife describes her first time with another woman. The writing doesn't try to be poetic about it. It's awkward and specific and mentions details that feel too real, like the texture of someone else's bedsheets and that moment where you realize you're actually going through with it. The therapist's reaction changes depending on how honest you are, which I didn't notice until my third playthrough because I kept picking the same damn options. The boss harassment subplot feels like it's from a different game entirely. One minute you're exploring these genuinely tense erotic scenes, the next you're dealing with workplace drama that has all the subtlety of a brick. I wish they'd just committed to the therapy sessions and the unraveling marriage instead of throwing in this cartoon villain who exists solely to make Jim's life worse. But then Natalia leans forward and asks another question, and suddenly I don't care about Jim or his boss or the plot holes. The real model's expressions do this thing where her professional mask slips for just a frame, and you catch something underneath that the dialogue never directly addresses. That's the screenshot moment. Not the explicit stuff, though there's plenty of that. It's the half-second where the therapist looks more lost than her patient. The game keeps insisting it's about faithfulness and sex games destroying a marriage, but the scenes that actually stick with you are the ones where everyone's still pretending.
