He’s pressed against the wood, pants around his ankles, and she’s got this look like she’s testing a new spell. The animation stutters a bit, her hair clips through her shoulder, and the sound is just some wet noises that loop weirdly. But there’s something about how she grabs his jaw after, tilting his face up while she’s still breathing hard, that made me replay it twice. The power dynamic shifts right there, and you realize the whole leveling system isn’t just numbers. It’s access. Grinding levels for Elana means clicking through the same forest fights over and over. Skeletons, slimes, the occasional wolf thing. The combat is barebones, just watching her swing or cast with zero input from you besides picking the target. Gets old fast. But every few levels unlocks a new villager or a new position with one you already broke in. The blacksmith’s wife, for instance, starts off refusing to even look at you, but once Elana’s magic stat hits a threshold, suddenly she’s bent over the anvil with her skirts hiked up. The game doesn’t explain any of this. You just stumble into it, which I kind of respect. The RPG part is a thin excuse, obviously. The real progression is watching Elana go from awkward fumbling to this commanding presence who can walk into the tavern and have the barmaid on her knees before the door closes. There’s a scene with the mayor that I won’t spoil but it involves his desk and a lot of knocking things over. The art is rough. Like, genuinely unpolished in a way that might turn people off. Colors are flat, backgrounds are empty, and sometimes during scenes the characters’ limbs bend at angles that don’t make anatomical sense. But the faces are expressive, especially Elana’s. She smirks a lot. The island itself is tiny, just a handful of buildings and a forest path, and the updates the description mentions are slow. Last one added a new villager and fixed a bug where Elana would get stuck in a wall during a scene with the fisherman. Still, for what it is, a browser game about corrupting an entire island through stat grinding, it scratches a specific itch. Just don’t expect depth beyond the obvious. Beta 1.1 of Chapter 2 The church management screen is where I lost about forty minutes just staring at numbers. Not even the sexy kind of numbers. Faith points, follower morale, some spirit I accidentally recruited that looks like a sad jellyfish. I kept clicking it hoping for a scene but no, just more management. Then I remembered there's a whole demon war happening somewhere and I'm playing spreadsheet simulator with a jellyfish ghost. The actual fucking though. When it finally happens. There's this one animation with the Archmage that has no right being that fluid in a Flash game from whenever this was made. Her legs do this thing where they sort of tremble and then lock up and the audio kicks in from that listentopo site and it's just... yeah. I had to mute it because the moaning was too much, then unmuted it, then muted again. The 6 minute cinematic near the end is basically just an extended sex scene with some plot sprinkled on top like salt. The demons world section has combat animations that are genuinely better than the sex animations in some other games I've played, which feels backwards but I'm not complaining. The wild people village part drags. There's too much walking between events and half the images are still placeholder sketches in this beta. You can tell where the Patreon polls forced content in because suddenly there's a fully voiced scene with Jane and then immediately after you're clicking through text boxes with no art at all. The Morrow section has this one choice where you can basically speedrun Elana's corruption or keep her "pure" longer, but the pure path just means less content so why would you. The final boss of the Peace Guard, Adot, has a defeat scene that made me forget about the missing images for a while. Something about the way the text describes what happens after you win. Or lose. Both are worth seeing honestly. The elven castle has a throne room scene that I wish had more variations because I replayed it three times and got the same outcome each time despite picking different dialogue. Maybe that's intentional, maybe the beta just isn't finished there. The wiki says there's supposed to be more but the blog updates are from 2018 so I'm not holding my breath. Still, that one animation with the spirits. The translucent ones. When they overlap. That's going to live in my head for a while.
