The Fall Of Tiny Red Riding Hood
The wolf's tongue is the wrong color. That's what stuck with me after clicking through this thing, not the obvious anatomical impossibilities or the way Red's hood keeps clipping through her shoulders in panel 3. The tongue is this flat matte pink, like someone sampled it from a default Unity material and called it a day. In a game where that tongue is going to be doing some very specific narrative work, you'd think they'd at least give it some specular highlights. Some wetness. Something. But no, it's just... there. A flat pink polygon that occasionally intersects with other flat polygons. The whole thing runs on what feels like a slideshow viewer someone cobbled together in an afternoon, Next and Prev buttons and all. The comic book framing is doing a lot of heavy lifting here, letting them get away with static poses that would feel cheap in any other format. Red herself has exactly two expressions: mildly concerned and whatever you'd call the face she makes when the story takes its inevitable turn. The wolf, meanwhile, looks like he wandered in from a completely different art asset pack. Different line weight, different shading style, different everything. It's almost charming in how little they tried to make these characters look like they belong in the same universe. The parody angle is where things get genuinely weird. Someone on the dev team clearly read the original fairy tale and thought, what if the moral of the story was just... not there? What if the woodcutter never shows up and we just let things play out? The humor lands somewhere between intentional and accidental, like when the narration tries to sound literary while describing acts that would make the Brothers Grimm spontaneously combust. There's a scene involving grandma's bed that I'm still not sure was meant to be funny, but I laughed anyway. The writing has this broken English quality that somehow makes the whole thing filthier, like reading a smutty comic translated through three different languages and then back again. You keep clicking Next not because you're invested, but because you genuinely can't predict what mangled sentence or bizarre anatomical choice is coming next. The wolf's tongue stays that same dead pink the entire time. I checked every panel.
