About this game
Octopussy's latest build dropped a jungle into the mix and I'm losing my mind over how the vines don't react to shots at all. Just static green noodles hanging there while you're blasting anime girls with what the game calls bullets of love. The whole premise is so aggressively stupid I can't stop clicking. You're this floating heart thing, I think, and these big eyed hentai babes pop up from behind temple ruins and you gotta shoot them until they... feel the love? The amour tag doing heavy lifting here.
The arcade loop is basically whack a mole with jiggle physics. One moment that stuck with me was this shrine maiden type appearing from behind a pillar, her kimono already half off before I even fired, and the shooting rhythm synced up with this weirdly catchy chiptune beat. My brain went full neuron activation. Then the jungle level loads and it's the same exact gameplay but now there's a monkey sound effect that plays at random intervals. No monkeys visible. Just the sound. Drove me up the wall for the first ten minutes until I realized it's probably a cue for something but I still haven't figured out what. The patreon build mentions other games by this dev and I'm genuinely curious if they all have this same chaotic energy where nothing is explained and you just vibe with the absurdity.
The fullscreen button is essential, bottom right corner, because the default browser window cuts off the UI elements showing your love meter. Missed that for my first three runs and thought the game was broken. It's not broken, just deliberately unpolished in a way that circles back to being charming. The shooting feels snappy though, I'll give it that. Hit detection is weirdly precise for a game where the goal is to make anime girls climax via projectile affection. Reminds me of those old Flash games on Newgrounds before everything got sanitized, except now there's a jungle and a patreon link and the whole thing exists in this beautiful jank space where the creator clearly just said fuck it, here's my vision, deal with the monkey sounds.
