About this game
Blue Ocean Resort. Paradise Cove. Sounds like a postcard, right? Wrong. First thing I see is grandma Umi, fresh out of some medical thing, looking like she needs a nap more than a vacation. And here I am, supposed to be her caretaker. Not exactly the beach romp I downloaded this for. The whole setup feels like a bait and switch, honestly. You think harem, you think sun, sand, and... well, you know. Instead, I'm playing nurse.
But then you meet the staff. And holy shit, the staff. The front desk girl has this way of leaning over the counter that makes you forget about medical charts real quick. The cleaning lady? Her uniform is basically a suggestion. There's this one scene where you're helping grandma with her physical therapy in the pool area, and the lifeguard just... watches. The game doesn't even try to hide what it is. The dialogue is so blunt it's almost funny. One minute you're discussing grandma's medication schedule, the next a maid is whispering something about "extra turndown service" that definitely isn't on the hotel brochure. The touch interface is simple, just tapping through text and making the occasional choice that's about as subtle as a brick through a window.
The art is deliberately rough around the edges, which somehow makes the whole thing dirtier. It's like finding a smudged magazine under a mattress. I do wish the grandma plot would just resolve itself or disappear entirely. It's this weird guilt trip hanging over everything. Every time I'm about to get somewhere with the bartender, who mixes a mean cocktail and has this piercing stare, grandma's monitor beeps and I have to go fluff her pillows. It's a cockblock mechanic, I swear. The hotel setting is barely used, it's mostly just different rooms for different flavors of the same scenario. No real beach fun, which is a crime. Missed opportunity for some sandy, messy encounters. But that one scene in the laundry room with the head housekeeper? Worth the price of admission. She's got this no-nonsense attitude that just... crumbles. Forgot where I was going with that. The whole thing is a mess, a hot, unapologetic mess that knows exactly what you're here for and delivers it with a straight face, even while grandma's asking for her tea in the next room.
