About this game
The whole thing runs in a browser tab, no download, and the first thing that hits you is the color palette. It's like someone took a cheap beach towel from the 90s and stretched it over an arkanoid clone. The blonde is there, in a swimsuit, standing next to a circus tent. Outside. Public. You bounce a ball off a paddle to juggle hoops. Miss the ball and nothing resets, she just stands there looking mildly disappointed, which is somehow worse than a game over screen.
There's this one moment, maybe after the third stage, where she starts pulling the straps down and the ball physics decide to get floaty. I spent way too long trying to line up a shot between two hoops, like a degenerate playing Peggle with a boner. The strip mechanic is tied to your combo, so if you're bad at arkanoid you're basically edging yourself with a mouse. I kept thinking about that one browser game from Newgrounds where you had to click fast to undress a nurse. This is slower. More frustrating.
The real model tag is doing a lot of work here. She's not animated, just a series of photos that swap when you hit a threshold. The outdoor setting is weirdly bright, like they filmed it in a parking lot behind a fairground. No music to speak of, just a loop of what sounds like a carousel dying. I forgot to mention the hoops are the actual targets, not the bricks. You clear them by hitting them from below, and sometimes the ball clips through her shoulder. It's janky. But the jank is the charm, I guess. Like listening to a chiptune cover with wrong notes on purpose. You don't play this for the arkanoid. You play it because the circus tent in the background looks like it smells like popcorn and regret.
