About this game

The first thing that hits you is the sound. It's this wet, rhythmic squelch that loops a bit too perfectly, like someone recorded a plunger in a bucket of custard and called it a day. I had my phone under my desk, brightness all the way down, just trying to get through a quick session of this mochi-making game. The premise is simple enough, you're in a candy shop, you're making these little rice cakes, and the "testing" phase involves a pink, glittery strapon that appears from off-screen. I don't know why it's glittery. It just is.

The humor is so deadpan it circles back to being surreal. You're carefully kneading this doughy blob, and the mochi has this dumb, happy face that doesn't change expression even when things get... penetrative. I spent way too long on the color mixing mini-game, trying to get the perfect shade of sakura pink, only to realize the final product's color doesn't affect the lewd scene at all. It's a detail that feels like a prank. The whole thing has the energy of a Newgrounds flash animation from 2006, deliberately unpolished, with UI elements that look like they were drawn with a mouse in MS Paint. There's a button that just says "Squish" and it does exactly what you think, but the animation stutters on my browser, a weird frame skip right at the crucial moment that makes it look like the mochi is having a tiny seizure.

I wish the strapon wasn't just a static image that slides back and forth. A little rotation, a little jiggle physics on the mochi's cheeks, something. But that's never getting patched, this is the final form. The whole thing is a shitpost you can interact with. I forgot to mention the sound effect when you fail a recipe, it's a stock "wah-wah" trombone that made me snort loud enough my boss looked over. Now I'm just staring at a spreadsheet, thinking about that dumb, happy mochi face.
