You know that feeling when a mobile game actually has a plot and you get suspicious, like when a pizza place also sells sushi. City of Broken Dreamers is that pizza sushi joint. I was tapping through, half expecting the usual "delivery guy gets lucky" setup, but no, suddenly I'm a corporate mercenary in 2042 Los Angeles, tracking some girl who's got everyone from executives to gutter punks in a twist. The writing tries so hard to be Blade Runner it almost hurts, but then a scene happens where you're dominating a high class MILF with a body that defies several laws of physics and you forget about the noir monologues.
The 3DCG models are that specific style where everyone looks like they're made of polished plastic, but the animators clearly spent their budget on the sex acts. There's this one anal scene with a futa character that has no right being that fluid on a phone screen. The male domination path lets you get genuinely rough, spanking that leaves marks, groping that feels possessive rather than exploratory. I got stuck for ten minutes on a dialogue choice about whether to romance a broken down ex cop or just use her for intel, and the game actually remembered my choice later, which is more than I can say for most apps on my phone. The BDSM elements aren't just window dressing either, there's a group sex sequence that manages to be both degrading and weirdly tender, if you can ignore the sci-fi jargon everyone spits during pillow talk.
The violence though. It's jarring, not in a cool way but in a "why is there a torture scene in my porn game" way. You can skip it, mostly. The virgin tag applies to a side character whose corruption arc is either hot or uncomfortable depending on how much you think about it. I spent way too long in the character customization menu, which is bare bones, but I still obsessed over my merc's jawline like it would matter during the creampie finale. The game wants to be taken seriously, with its city of broken dreams and corporate dystopia, but then it throws a titfuck scene at you that's so gratuitous I laughed out loud on the bus. Don't play this in public, obviously, unless you want strangers seeing a trans character's surprisingly well modeled anatomy. The voyeurism bits are integrated into the plot, which is clever, but sometimes I just wanted to get to the next sex scene without reading three screens about megacorporation politics. The soundtrack loops in that hypnotic way that makes you forget time exists, which is dangerous for a game this long.
