About this game
The soundtrack is trying to kill the mood. I swear. There's this one track during a supposedly tense supernatural reveal that sounds exactly like a broken ice cream truck circling the block. It's so distractingly off-key that I missed the first real clue about the protagonist's demonic heritage. The game is Demon Seed, and it's a visual novel that's aggressively unpolished in ways that loop back around to being fascinating. The 3DCG models have that plastic sheen, the kind where skin looks like it would squeak if you touched it. The male protagonist is a blank slate with a magic dick, the kind of guy who stumbles into a world of milfs with big tits and tattoos and just... accepts it.
The sex scenes are animated with a sort of jerky, hypnotic rhythm. There's a handjob from a tattooed woman in a dream sequence that loops with the mechanical certainty of a screensaver. The oral sex scenes have this weird audio mix where the wet sounds are too loud and the voice acting is too quiet, like someone's eating a peach directly into your ear while whispering secrets from another room. The mystery is genuinely stupid and I mean that as a compliment. You're this dude who's unnaturally good at getting women into bed, and then demons show up. The male domination angle is played so straight it becomes surreal. You'll be in the middle of a vaginal sex scene with a milf who has supernatural tattoos, and the protagonist will say something so blandly authoritative that you wonder if the writer has ever spoken to another human. The masturbation scenes are framed like crime scene photos.
I wish the teasing was more than just a prelude to the obvious. The game rushes past the one genuinely creepy moment where a demon's reflection doesn't match her movements. That's the good stuff. The rest is a visual novel that feels like it was rendered on a laptop that was actively overheating, with a story that's a fever dream about a guy who fucks his way into a demonic conspiracy. The big tits are big. The mystery is a shrug. The ice cream truck music is still playing in my head and I can't decide if that's a bug or the most effective horror element in the whole thing.
