About this game
Thalna’s got this tattoo on her inner thigh that shifts when she’s lying. Not kidding. First time I noticed it, she was talking to some sludge merchant about a “clean” relic and the ink just... crawled. Like a centipede made of shadow. That’s the kind of detail that gets me. The game looks like it was drawn on a napkin sometimes, deliberately rough linework and colors that bleed outside the edges, but then a corruption scene hits and suddenly there’s six frames of her pupils splitting, her teeth sharpening, the black marks spreading up her belly like vines. Worth the jank.
You’re basically holding her leash underground. Every dialogue choice pushes her deeper into something. Do you let the blind ferryman touch her hair in exchange for safe passage? Do you drink the glowing sap the mushroom people offer? My Thalna started refusing everything, trying to stay clean, and the game punished her harder for that than if she’d just spread her legs. There’s a moment where she’s cornered by three exiles and the “resist” option leads to a CG that’s way more degrading than the compliant one. Mean design. Loved it.
Wish the choice tracking was clearer. Sometimes I picked something thinking it was neutral and then her corruption meter spiked and a new tattoo appeared, some symbol I didn’t recognize, and I just had to guess why. The underground setting gets repetitive too, same dripping walls, same fungal glow. But then you find a hidden room where a thing made of hands offers to rewrite her memories and the scene plays out in this slow, awful silence that makes you forget the recycled backgrounds. I keep coming back to see how ruined she can get. Not because it’s sexy exactly, more like watching a slow motion accident while someone whispers “told you so” right in your ear. The tattoo artist in the third district? Actual nightmare fuel. Her design alone will stick with me.
