About this game
Right, so Johnny fucks up. Steals from the wrong guy, some dealer with zero chill, and now he's got to claw his way out. The whole thing plays like a point and click fever dream where every object is a potential weapon or a bad idea. You grab a bottle, smash it on the counter, then use the ashes from an ashtray to blind a thug. It's stupid, it's messy, and it works.
The animations are everywhere. Intros, little cutscenes, all unskippable. You will sit through every single one, and honestly? That's part of the charm. It forces you to marinate in the grime. The bar setting feels sticky, like the floor hasn't been mopped since the Bush administration. There's fighting, but it's not some polished brawler. It's desperate. You're not a hero, you're a guy who made a choice and now has to deal with the consequences, which usually means hitting someone with a bottle.
The instructions are baked right into the game, which is good because the logic is... specific. Pick up ashes, use on thug. Sure. Why not. It's the kind of puzzle that makes you feel clever for figuring out something that would never work in real life. The criminal adventure tag is doing a lot of heavy lifting here. It's less an adventure and more a series of bad decisions strung together with violence.
One thing that bugs me, the pacing. You'll be in the middle of a tense moment and then bam, another unskippable animation. It kills the momentum sometimes. But then you get to the next fight and forget all about it. The game doesn't care if you're comfortable. It just wants you to survive Johnny's mess. And maybe that's enough.
