About this game
this game has a vibe like you found a stained vhs tape in a beach house after a storm. everything is too bright. the sand is too white. and there's this constant feeling of being watched but you cant see the cameras. the detective part is mostly you piecing together why everyone acts so weird. like why does the girl who runs the bar smile like she's reading your mind. not in a hot way. well, sometimes in a hot way.
the erotic stuff creeps in sideways. a hand on your thigh during a conversation that should be about finding fresh water. the way a character describes what they'd do to you if the power goes out again. it's not a dating sim where you pick flowers and get a kiss. it's more like, everyone is a suspect and also they want to fuck you, or maybe kill you, or both. the hentai scenes are... there's this one with the gardener and a machete that i still think about. not because it was scary. well, yeah, because it was scary. but also.
i wish the mystery held together a bit more. some threads just kinda vanish like a character who goes to check on the generator and never comes back and nobody mentions it. maybe that's the point? the tropical island setting is oppressive in a good way. palm trees and decay. the visual novel style means you're reading a lot of text that suddenly drops a cg of someone in lingerie holding a bloody key. the nsfw parts are very explicit. like, anatomically detailed and wet. the secret ending i got was nonsense but the sex scene before it was worth it. i think the reality show angle is undercooked. who is the audience. why do they care about my dick. anyway the horror works best when it's just the silence between waves and a text box saying "she is lying."
