About this game

I keep thinking about that password system. You finish the prologue and it just gives you a code for part two, like some old shareware thing from the 90s. Mai Saotome is this private police officer, which already sounds made up, and she gets hired to babysit some rich guy's son. Her partner Takayama is there too but honestly he's just kind of... present. They start digging into Dibero, the father's massive corporation, and that's where the detective stuff happens.

The art is this weird mix of anime and 3d that never quite settles. Sometimes Mai looks decent, other times her face does something strange during the scenes. The hentai content is straightforward, nothing you haven't seen before if you've played these visual novels. She gets into situations, clothes come off, the usual. There's one scene in an office that I remember being decently animated but then the next one felt stiff. I don't know why the inconsistency bothers me more than if it was all bad.

What's strange is how the investigation parts actually try to be a real game. You're clicking through dialogue, making choices that affect what happens next. The adult tension builds through these choices, like do you have her be professional or let things escalate. I picked the more reckless options obviously. The story isn't winning awards but it does enough to string the scenes together. I wish there was more actual detective work instead of just talking about investigating. The password at the end felt anticlimactic, like congratulations here's a string of numbers now go find the next part. At least it remembers your choices for the continuation, assuming you ever track down part two. The whole thing is rough around the edges but that's almost charming in a way that polished games aren't.
