About this game
I don't know what I expected. Maybe some kind of puzzle. My brain was ready for something tactical, like where's the best angle you know? On the screen. Twenty five balloons. That's it. Just floating there in neat rows, innocent as a shojo manga confession scene but we all know what's coming. Pop one, pop two, twenty three more to go. The first pop that tiny sound effect. It's so cheap. No fancy animations, nothing smooth about it. Just a balloon vanishing and then wow. There she is. A real woman, not some drawing, looking right at you with that expression. The kind Inoue Takehiko would spend ten chapters building toward but here it's just instant gratification. Her lips slightly open. The curve of her breast pushing against black lace.
Levels just keep cycling through different women. Each one becomes almost like collecting manga volume covers except instead of Clamp's elegant characters, it's a photo set that gets progressively less clothed. I popped 1 through 25 on this one girl, dark hair, this impossibly smug smirk like she knows exactly what you're doing with your afternoon. The pictures don't follow any logic. Sometimes she's wearing more at balloon 20 than she was at balloon 8. It's almost disorienting. Like reading a josei manga where the timeline keeps jumping but the sex scenes come at random.
The whole thing runs on pure compulsion. Naked skin appears and disappears between pops. The interface is so basic, just click click click, my finger doing the work while my brain shut off completely. Some abstract part of me remembered reading about the psychology of variable rewards, how dopamine spikes harder when you don't know what's coming. But mostly I just kept clicking, chasing that next reveal, watching a blonde model slowly remove her top across twenty five increasingly explicit frames. The button pixel's a bit off on the right side. Never got fixed. Drives me insane.
