The whole thing feels like someone forgot to animate half the scenes and just said fuck it, ship it anyway. And honestly? That's kind of why it works. That janky 3DCG, the way a redhead's mouth just sort of opens and closes like a fish during oral, the outdoor sex scenes where the grass texture looks like it was ripped from a PS2 game. It's all so deliberately rough that you can't help but respect the hustle. A remote hamlet in Scotland, some milf investigator type poking around, and then boom, selkies. Not sexy mermaids. Selkies. The corruption meter mechanic, you're building resistance, right? Except every time you make a choice, the game practically begs you to fail. I spent way too long on one scene where the protagonist can either investigate a strange sound or go check on the village elder. Pick the elder and it's a boring conversation. Pick the sound and suddenly there's a lesbian group sex scene with two selkie women in human form that makes zero sense geographically, they're in a cave that definitely wasn't there before. The anal sex comes out of nowhere too. No buildup. Just seal magic and suddenly everyone's into everything. My kingdom for a proper transition.

There's this whole mystery angle about the Song of the Surf season approaching, and the visual novel bits are actually decent when they bother to write them. But then you get a sharing scene with the cheating husband and his wife and some creature, and the dialogue reads like it was translated through three languages. "Your resistance weakens as the glamour takes your womanly parts." Who talks like that? The investigation stuff has you clicking around for clues, but the real game is just seeing how fast you can corrupt your protagonist. Outdoor scenes pop up constantly, the redhead gets railed in the surf, and the fantasy elements are just an excuse for more fucking. The milf character deserved better writing though. We all did.

Dare to play it alone? You'll finish confused and vaguely horny, which is probably the point.
