About this game
You ever get real familiar with the skip button in a game? Sovereign had me mashing through whole days just to trigger the next corruption check. Don't get me wrong, when it hits, it hits like a freight train. The whole thing is a sandbox where you play some loser who lucks into mind control powers after finding his dead dad's secret. Classic setup. The translation is rough as sandpaper. Lines just stop making sense sometimes. But then you'll get a scene where your stepmom, a proper MILF with an ass that defies physics, starts unconsciously rubbing herself at breakfast because of the suggestions you planted the night before, and suddenly grammar doesn't matter.
The 3DCG models are weirdly proportioned. Hips wider than a car, tits bolted on like aftermarket parts. I hated it for the first hour. Now I can't imagine the game without it. There's a particular moment with a married neighbor, a netori situation, where she's trying to rationalize why she's bent over your dirty kitchen table while her husband is out, and the pure blankness in her eyes sells the mind-*** housewife look better than any polished AAA title ever could. The game doesn't explain its systems well, so I wasted a week in-game time just sleeping, completely clueless how to progress the exhibitionism track with the college girl.
Tangentially, have you ever noticed how these sandbox sims all have the same fishing minigame? It's never good. Yet here I am, clicking a pixelated bobber just to afford a new bed so I can unlock the creampie animation with the corruptible school teacher. The shame is part of the loop. The harem management becomes a chore, a scheduling nightmare where you're juggling dates to keep the mind control from wearing off. Would be nice if the UI got an overhaul but I know it won't.
Found a bug where my character's dick just vanished during a BDSM scene with the exhibitionist chick. Just a floating pelvis game. Laughed my ass off. Still finished the scene. That's Sovereign for you, a broken mess that somehow understands the abandoned thought
