About this game
The sprite for the vizier does this little shuffle when he's lying. Left foot, right foot, weight shift, eyes dart to the corner of the screen. I spent maybe twenty minutes just watching that loop while the game's calendar ticked forward, because honestly the management layer is a spreadsheet with tits attached and I was avoiding a decision about grain tax. The grain tax affects how many new concubines you can afford. That's the loop. Ottoman Empire simulator where the empire part is a thin skin over a resource grind that feeds the harem builder. The harem builder is where the 3DCG models live, and they're... look, they're not winning awards. The skin textures have that plastic sheen you get from early Daz3D renders, the kind where everyone looks slightly damp. But the animator understood something about weight. When a character shifts from one hip to the other during a dialogue about silk imports, there's a pause at the apex of the movement that feels more honest than the sex scenes.
The sex scenes are functional. You've got your standard unlock tree, positions gated behind relationship stats and a bdsm skill line that feels like it was designed by someone who read a wiki article about shibari once and then just winged it. The anal scenes unlock too early, before the character models have enough trust built in the narrative, so you get this weird dissonance where a woman who was just introduced as a political hostage from the Crimean Khanate is suddenly enthusiastic about things that the dialogue hasn't earned. The oral animations are better, there's a specific handjob scene with a Circassian concubine where the finger movements actually track the dialogue choices you made three turns earlier, and I wish the rest of the game had that attention to cause and effect.
The gay content is there but it's tucked into a side wing of the palace you can miss entirely if you're not reading the event prompts carefully. The male protagonist can pursue male slaves and guards, and those scenes have a different power dynamic than the harem stuff, more negotiation, less automatic submission. The lesbian content between harem members happens mostly in group scenes that trigger during the sandbox segments, and the strategy layer determines who's in the room together, which means you can engineer specific pairings if you understand the scheduling system. The cheating tag comes from a vizier's wife subplot that I keep forgetting exists until the game reminds me with a popup. The romance path for the head eunuch is surprisingly tender and I wish they'd cut half the management mechanics to focus on that instead. The slave training interface uses icons that look like they were drawn in MS Paint and I've clicked the wrong one more times than I can count. The big tits physics are set to a default that makes them move like water balloons in zero gravity and there's no slider to adjust it. I checked the settings menu three times.
