About this game
Okay so the nurse scene. The one with the clipboard. I keep thinking about how her glasses fog up, this tiny detail that probably took someone five minutes to animate but it lives in my head rent free now. The whole thing is so absurdly over the top, Axel just takes her right there in the medical tent with soldiers literally outside, and the game plays it completely straight like this is a normal Tuesday for a military commander. Which, I guess for him it is.
The writing is trash. I mean that affectionately. It reads like someone fed a hundred bad romance novels into a blender and hit puree, but there's something almost hypnotic about it. Axel's dialogue is so cartoonishly alpha that I started reading it out loud to myself at one point, doing the voice and everything. My cat was not impressed. The cheating subplot with Isabella though, that's where things get genuinely interesting in a way the game doesn't seem to realize. She's about to dump Cody, this limp noodle of a man, and then the forest stuff happens and suddenly she's making choices that feel almost... real? Like the writing accidentally stumbled into actual character motivation for five minutes before going back to "and then they fucked."
The branching paths are a lie. Let's be real. You click around, you see some animated scenes, the end. But the animations themselves, for a browser game, are surprisingly smooth. The anal scene with Valerie caught me off guard with how fluid it was. Not that I was looking for that specifically. I was doing research. The LGBTQ content with Tobey feels tacked on though, like someone remembered diversity was a thing halfway through development and scribbled it in the margins. The whole thing is a glorious mess and I've played through it three times now. Don't ask me why. I don't have a good answer.
