About this game
The whole thing feels like someone’s half finished Ren’py project they dumped on itch.io at 4am, and I mean that as a weird compliment. Anita’s story is this kinetic novel, no choices, just clicking through text while she figures out her body. The art is deliberately rough, like sketches that got colored in a hurry, and the writing has that same energy. There’s a scene where she’s in her room, door slightly open, touching herself while her dad might be in the hallway. The tension is all in the pauses between lines, the way the text slows down when she hears footsteps. It’s exhibitionism but the quiet kind, more about the risk than the act.
The dad’s perspective sections are where it gets messy. You get inside his head while he’s noticing things he shouldn’t, and the game doesn’t really judge him for it. That’s the incest tag doing its work, I guess. There’s this one moment where he’s outside her door and the narration just lingers on his hand hovering near the handle. No payoff, just the weight of it. The transformation tag is more about Anita’s mental shift than anything physical, her realizing she likes being watched. The teasing is constant but never resolves, which is probably the point for a pre story but still left me scrolling back like I missed a scene.
Soundtrack is just a couple of lo-fi loops that somehow make the whole thing feel more intimate. No voice acting, just the music and the click of the mouse. I kept thinking about that one Twitter thread where people argued whether kinetic novels even count as games. This one barely does, but the voyeurism angle works because you’re literally just watching, no agency. The masturbation scenes are explicit but written with this detached curiosity, like Anita’s taking notes on herself. Forgot to mention there’s a female protagonist tag too, obviously, since Anita’s the main lens. The multiple protagonist thing is half baked though, the dad’s parts feel like they’re from a different, creepier game. Anyway, the whole thing is about 40 minutes and ends on a cliffhanger that made me check if my browser crashed. It didn’t. That’s just where it stops.
