About this game
The whole thing feels like a half remembered dream where you’re trying to flirt but your mouth is full of cotton. The garden setting, right, it’s this static image of a summer day that’s too bright, like someone turned the saturation up and then forgot to add any actual life. No birds, no wind, just you and this Asian girl who’s been plopped onto the screen. The art style is that specific kind of hentai where the lines are a bit shaky, like the artist was drawing with their left hand. It’s not unappealing, it’s just... honest. It looks like something that crawled out of a forgotten corner of Newgrounds in 2006 and I mean that as a weird compliment.
The pickup mechanics are basically a tightrope walk over a pit of her getting pissed off. You get these choice prompts, and the wrong one makes her face scrunch up and the whole thing ends. I spent a good ten minutes trying to figure out why complimenting her dress was a fail state. Maybe it was the wrong dress? The game never tells you. It’s like trying to solve a puzzle where the pieces are made of smoke. There’s a specific moment where you can touch her shoulder and the screen doesn’t change but the text describes her leaning in, and that gap between the static image and the words is where the actual eroticism lives. Your brain has to fill in the motion, the heat. It’s more effective than a lot of high budget animated scenes I’ve seen, which is a sentence I never thought I’d type.
The multiple endings are there, I guess. I got one where she just walked away and I stared at the empty garden for a while. Another where things got explicit, the text getting more fragmented and desperate. The whole thing is a study in how low production value can sometimes, accidentally, create a more intense focus on the internal narrative you’re building in your head. The lack of polish isn’t a bug, it’s the entire point, a blank canvas for your own depraved imagination. But that one dialogue tree where the options were literally just “Yes” and “...” made me want to throw my phone at the wall. Why even give me a choice?
