There's this one track that plays during the psychologic breakdown scenes and it's just... wrong. Off key slightly. Made my skin crawl. The voice acting though. Hoo boy. Some of it is genuinely good and some of it sounds like someone recorded it in their bathroom at 2pm while their roommate was vacuuming. The female domination scenes suffer the most from this. Hard to feel intimidated when the audio keeps peaking. I keep thinking about the harem route even though I hated it. Not because it was bad but because it made me feel gross in a way I wasn't expecting. You're collecting these women like pokemon and the game knows it. The male protagonist starts making these little comments, these tiny justifications, and you're nodding along until you catch yourself and want to take a shower. The multiple endings thing is no joke either. Some of them contradict each other so hard you'll think you played different games. The mystery elements are there but they're buried under so much drama and sex you might forget about them entirely until the last few hours when everything goes to hell. Don't play this if you want to feel good about yourself. Actually do play it. But maybe skip the incest route unless you're really committed to seeing how far the rabbit hole goes. The drugs tag isn't decorative either. There's a scene with the milf character that I still think about and not in a fun way. In a "what is wrong with me" way. Which I guess is the point.

The sound design in Emily Does It All is weirdly specific about zippers. You notice it during the first real scene with Nick, that friends with benefits setup where you can practically feel the dorm room's shitty fluorescent light flickering. The zipper sound is too loud, mixed way forward, and it happens every single time clothes come off. Which is often. It becomes this accidental motif, this metallic little promise that the game keeps making and, honestly, mostly keeps. The 3DCG models have that slightly glossy look, like everyone's been lightly oiled, but the facial expressions are where the unpolished thing actually works. Emily's eyes go half lidded in a way that's more believable than most triple A games manage. There's a moment during the sixty nine scene with Claire, the prim and proper one who is absolutely not prim about anything below the neck, where the camera just lingers on Emily's face and you watch her go from nervous to completely gone. The pace is all wrong in the best way. It rushes through setup like it's embarrassed to be a visual novel, then slows to an absolute crawl when hands start wandering. Like a party where someone spilled wine on the carpet and everyone froze, except the wine is arousal and nobody's sorry. The exhibitionism stuff sneaks up on you. One choice has Emily in the library stacks, and the game doesn't make a big deal about it. You just realize halfway through the groping that anyone could walk by. The tension isn't in the act itself, it's in the pauses between dialogue choices where the background noise of the library keeps playing. Footsteps. Someone coughing. The game forgets to have a soundtrack during these moments, which is either brilliant or a bug. I complained to myself about the lip syncing being nonexistent for a solid minute before a new scene started and I forgot entirely because Emily's hand was suddenly somewhere that made the zipper sound happen again and my brain just let it go. There's this one scene with the twins where they're both teasing you in the library and I forgot which dialogue option I picked but suddenly there's vaginal sex happening and I hadn't saved in like twenty minutes. The game autosaves sometimes but not when you need it to. The romance path is weird because you can be sweet one moment and then the slave dynamic kicks in and she's calling you master and I'm sitting there thinking wait weren't we just talking about her dead father. The tonal whiplash is real. The group sex scenes are animated decently enough, the textures on skin look plasticky in certain lighting but the actual movements have a rhythm to them that works.
